Trumpeter 1:72 Wellington

Nothing at all to do with railways but never mind...

I was amazed to find that my father-in-law flew the Wellington Mk1c with 214 Sqn during the war.   Any excuse to build a model,  I decided to have a go with the Trumpeter version.  Having built my last Wimpy in 1976 (Matchbox), I was expecting the usual 40-50 pieces but this kit has nearly 200!

Now completed.  The geodesic surface detail is a bit heavy but the overall look of the aircraft is excellent.

Interior (icluding ELSAN toilet!)

Rear gun turret

The engines (look more like Dr Who enemies)

Completed aircraft

Squadron codes (took me ages making them out of S, K and J letters supplied with the extra decals I bought)
